Arriving in El Kab, the transfer takes place to the rock tombs. Discover the almost unknown city, city wall, temple and rock-cut tombs from the early 18th dynasty around 1500 BC.

You arrive in Edfu in the afternoon. A carriage is already waiting for you and you drive in pairs through the picturesque town with its small shops and lively life on the streets. The enclosing walls of the Edfu Temple shine golden yellow majestically in the afternoon sun, which you can already see from afar.
One of the largest and best-preserved monuments in Egypt is the Edfu Temple – the Temple of Horus. The entrance is flanked by two beautiful granite statues of the falcon god Horus.

Go ashore on El Ramady Island. A walk along the plantations, groves of date palms and mango trees line the way. The warm welcome of the farmer’s family testifies to the extraordinary hospitality of Egypt. There are some nice stories to be told over an Egyptian chai with fresh mint from the garden. You will see how the Egyptian sun bread is prepared in the traditional way and baked in the original stone oven. We enjoy the freshly baked sun bread at lunch on board.
Explore the pharaonic sandstone quarries of Gabal as-Silsila. The shrine and rock temple of King Horemheb are among the impressive monuments. This is dedicated to Amun, Mut, Khons, Sobek, Taweret and the pharaoh Haremheb himself.
The rock stelae of Seti I, Ramses II and Merenptah as well as Ramses V, Sheshonk I and Ramses III are unique. 28 rock chapels from the New Kingdom (18th Dynasty) are just as fascinating as the overall impression of the mighty quarry. This is where the sandstone for the temples in Luxor comes from. The quarry was still in use well into Roman times.
Start your excursion to the impressive twin temples of Kom Ombo – dedicated to the crocodile-headed god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus. Images of the two gods are immortalized in the reliefs.
The crocodile-headed deity Sobek was the god of water and fertility in ancient Egypt. The architecture of this unique double temple is already fascinating when viewed from the Dahabeya, situated on a small hill.
In a relaxed way with only a few visitors you can visit this very well-preserved double temple of antiquity. Your Egyptologist will share interesting stories told by the walls of the temple. The calendar: afterlife and agriculture aligned.
The depictions of medicine are particularly interesting. Instruments from that time immortalized on the walls show that medical and surgical treatment was already used very well in ancient times.
The Nilo Meter is fascinating – the water level of the Nile was already observed here in ancient times. Finally, check out the curiosity at the Crocodile Museum: embalmed 2,000-year-old sacred crocodiles and other artefacts from the Pharaonic era.
Full of excitement we embark on the excursion and shore leave to visit Aswan.
Before that, we cross the dam of the first cataract before reaching the new big dam. A monument of modern architecture and construction of the modern age. Here you can enjoy an indescribable view of the vastness of Lake Nasser. It covers a water surface of 5,250 km² with a length of 500 km. Lake Nasser also reaches neighbouring Sudan, at Wadi-Halfa, and is then called Lake Nubia.
We take a small motorboat to Agilkia Island. Even from far, you will be fascinated by the sight of the Philae Temple. Explore the temple structures and listen to the history. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis. The legend told that it was like Isis found the heart of Osiris here.

Aswan, for many visitors one of the most beautiful cities on the Nile and at the same time the southernmost point of your Dahabeya Nile cruise. Another highlight of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Egypt is the temples of Abu Simbel.
In Abu Simbel you stand in front of the Large temple of Ramses II and the smaller temple of his wife Queen Nefertari. Both are probably one of the most imposing buildings in Egypt.
The Great Temple’s 100-foot-tall facade, with four colossal seated statues of Ramses II facing east toward the sunrise, is world-renowned. Between the massive legs are the larger-than-life statues of the female royal family.

Six standing statues of the powerful royal couple, ten meters high, adorn the facade of the small temple of Nefertari. These magnificent temples were once rescued from the floodwaters of the Nile after the completion of the dam and are faithfully rebuilt here.
